At Leading Home Care, we believe that caring for people goes beyond the services we provide. One of the ways we bring that mission to life each year is through our Annual Backpack & School Supply Drive, an initiative that helps students begin the school year with confidence while supporting the families who make our work possible.
Supporting the Families Who Support Others
Our caregivers, office staff, and healthcare professionals spend every day caring for others. Their compassion is what makes Leading Home Care special, and we believe it’s just as important to care for them.
Each summer, we provide backpacks filled with school supplies to the children of our employees to help ease the financial burden that often comes with back-to-school shopping. According to the National Retail Federation, families continue to spend hundreds of dollars preparing children for the new school year, making school supply assistance an important resource for many households.
While a backpack may seem like a simple gift, it represents something much bigger: appreciation, encouragement, and a reminder that our employees are valued—not only for the work they do, but for the families they care for at home.
Extending Our Impact into the Community
Our Backpack & School Supply Drive doesn’t stop with our own team.
Each year, we also donate backpacks to Healing House, a nonprofit organization that provides grief support services for children, teens, and families throughout Acadiana. Healing House creates a safe, compassionate space where children can navigate the loss of a loved one while connecting with others who understand their experiences.
By partnering with organizations like Healing House, we’re able to help even more children start the school year feeling prepared, supported, and encouraged.
