Leading Home Care expanded its services to the Lake Charles area in 1998. Today, we serve more than 175 clients in Lake Charles and the surrounding areas.

The office has been under the steadfast leadership of Shannon Rider for more than 12 years. Rider serves as the Regional Director for Region 5. “Working with our most vulnerable citizens has changed my perspective on life, and I am truly grateful to have such a meaningful job,” he recently stated.

Rhonda Broussard, Assistant Director of Client Care, and Leah Hamilton, Assistant Director of HR and Staffing, work alongside Rider to ensure the Lake Charles office is always running smoothly. Like many businesses in Lake Charles, this office has been challenged with hurricanes, tropical storms, and flooding this past year. During all of these challenges, the team has ensured our clients were safe and in locations that protected them until they could return home.

The Lake Charles office is active in many community events, including:

Hosting annual Christmas Party for clients & families
Hosting a client BBQ at local parks
Sponsoring children in need at Christmas through the Angel Tree Program
Sponsoring & participating in the Families Helping Families Golf Tournament Fundraiser each year
Supporting the Families Helping Families Dash for Disabilities 5K Run

Shannon Rider

Regional Director, Region 5

Shannon joined Leading Home Care in March 2006 as an Assistant Director and was promoted to Regional Director three years later. A graduate of McNeese State University, Shannon has lived in the Lake Charles area his entire life.

Before getting involved with the disability community, Shannon’s management experience included managing a golf course, several restaurants, pubs, and a video poker establishment. With more than 15 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, Shannon has now become a recognized leader in the disability community.

Shannon’s hobbies include tennis, golf, spending time with his nine-year-old son, and going to the movies with his family.

Rhonda Broussard

Assistant Director of Client Care, Region 5

Rhonda is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she obtained her degree in Child and Family Studies in 2002. After college, Rhonda went to work for a short time in the Calcasieu Parish School System. It was during this time that Rhonda discovered a passion for assisting individuals with disabilities and took a job as a PCA for a local provider agency. While there, she learned more about the services offered and was eventually promoted to SIL Supervisor. Rhonda joined Leading Home Care in 2006 as a Client Care Manager and thrived in her position. In 2017, Rhonda was promoted to Assistant Director of Region 5. Rhonda is passionate about helping individuals live with the best quality of life possible.

Rhonda is a native of Lake Charles. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, painting, making jewelry, decorating, acting, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Leah Hamilton

Assistant Director of HR & Staffing, Region 5

Leah is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana. While in high school, she spent her summer breaks working for a home health agency. It was during this time that she developed a passion for working with the elderly and disabled.

Leah graduated from Louisiana State University in 2016, earning a degree in political science with a concentration in international relations and a minor in French. Her passion for working with the elderly and developmentally disabled was still strong after college, leading her to accept a position at a provider agency in Baton Rouge.

After a short time, Leah returned to her hometown to be closer to family but still wanted to continue her work with the developmentally disabled. She joined Leading Home Care as a Staffing Coordinator in 2018 and, in eight short months, was promoted to Client Care Manager. As a CCM, Leah showed great leadership and devotion to her clients. Her vibrant and enthusiastic personality, combined with her passion and work ethic, allowed her the opportunity to become the Assistant Director of HR & Staffing for Lake Charles in 2021.

Leah’s hobbies include cleaning, doing makeup, traveling, and spending time with her family and three fur babies.
